Following the closing arguments in a murder trial, a jury of twelve men must deliberate on the fate of an inner-city teen accused of the crime. A guilty verdict would mean death for the defendant. As the jurors sequester themselves in a solitary, sweltering room to reach a unanimous decision, one member (played by Henry Fonda, known for his role in The Ox-Bow Incident) casts considerable doubt on the evidence presented. Personal issues soon surface, and tensions threaten to derail the delicate process that will determine the boy's future.

In addition to Fonda, who also co-produced the film with writer Reginald Rose, the cast includes Lee J. Cobb as Fonda's main opposition, Ed Begley as a hateful bigot, E.G. Marshall as a cold, logical stockbroker, Jack Warden as a baseball fanatic, and Jack Klugman as the disturbed blood-brother to the defendant. This feature directorial debut of Sidney Lumet (known for films like Serpico and The Verdict) has been hailed as "one of the best pictures ever made" by The Hollywood Reporter, a searing examination of race, justice, family, and morality.

The 4K UHD disc included in this release features a brand-new HDR/Dolby Vision master, derived from a fresh 4K scan of the original camera negative.
